Morah Phyllis Tessler

Morah Phyllis grew up on Long Island, New York and attended Midreshet Shalhevet High School for girls. After graduating, Phyllis spent a year studying in Israel at Sha’alvim Seminary for Women. She attended Yeshiva University’s Stern College, located right here in Manhattan, where she headed the “Al Pi Darko” Jewish Education Club. Phyllis obtained a BA in Judaic Studies with a concentration in Jewish Education and is currently pursuing her Master's in Jewish Education and Curriculum Development at Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and Administration.

Morah Phyllis has taught for the past three years grades kindergarten through 8th at MDS, Bi-Cultural Day School and Chabad of West Hempstead. She currently resides in Washington Heights with her husband, who learns in Yeshiva University’s Smicha Program, and her adorable daughter.

Over the summer, Morah Phyllis completed the Preschool Montessori Assistant Training course from the prestigious Association Montessori International (AMI) and now looks forward to bringing her skills and knowledge to Gan and Bnos Aliya.
