This past year, Miss Kaufman co-taught first-grade in the Yeshiva of Spring Valley Girls’ School. Miss Kaufman also helped prepare the curricula for Yahadus, Hashkafa, Halachos, and Middos/Derech Eretz for 1st-8th grade in same school. Miriam’s love of working with children began with taking care of her many younger siblings. Miriam spent her summers working with children in Monsey day camps and became head counselor a Camp Shevach in Quaker Hill community in the Catskills. In high school, Miriam provided free tutoring and mentoring for children of underprivileged families. She continues to be a steady volunteer for Chai Life Line working with ill children using play therapy and helping families cope with their hard times. Miriam looks forward to sharing the excitement, warmth, simcha, and pride about Judaism that she received from her own outstanding teachers and family: “My experiences with teaching and mentoring children strengthened my long-held desire to become a teacher who really makes a difference in a child’s life. The education I received at Bais Yaakov and NY Seminary inspired me to dream especially of teaching limudei kodesh. I look forward to sharing at Bnos Aliya an appreciation for the beauty of a Torah Life and Hashem’s love for us and cultivate the girls’ scholastic strengths and genuine love of learning.” |
